One of Prine's signature techniques is to incorporate the vocal melody along with a moving bass line in his fingerpicking.Using a I-IV-V open chord progression in the key of C, we'll explore how to get both parts working together, slowly. With a littlepractice you'll be plucking away in no time!

It's a really fun technique to learn, especially when you're first able to combine the bass and melody smoothly. Have patience,practice slowly and the coordination will kick in. Then, gently increase your picking speed as you feel comfortable.
