FIELD TRIAL RESEARCH REPORT

AMRUT MILLIQUIT Amrut Milliquit is a

botanical insecticide. Effective against Mealybug It is effective against

sucking insect pest i.e. aphid, jassids, thrips etc.

Mode of action: It acts as an antifeedant,

repellent, stomach poisonous & growth retardant in insect.

It also develop resistance capacity of plants

Grapevine Research Trial Field

Grape is infested by nearly 85 species of insect pests in India.

Among them mealy bug, Maconellicoccus hirsutus (Green) is the important and most destructive sucking pest.

Mealy bug sucks sap from the vine, including canes, leaves and fruit bunches and reduces crop vigour.

In addition, it also excretes honeydew which promotes sooty mold and making the fruits not fit for consumption and raisin making

The pest is seen through out the year and is more serious from October to March.

Efficacy of Amrut Milliquit against mealybug on Grapevine

Objective: To check the efficacy of Amrut milliquit against mealybug Location : Farmers field, A/p- Kumathe Tal- Miraj Dist- Sangli Name of Farmer : Shri Ajay Sadashiv Mali Variety : Krishna Total Area : 1000 m2 (10 rows & 120 plants in each row) Net Plot : 6 rows (120 plants in each) Design : RBD (Randomized Block Design) Replication : Four (30 plants/replication)

TREATMENTS

T1 – Amrut Milliquit @ 1 ml / lit of water T2 – Amrut Milliquit @ 2 ml / lit of water T3 – Amrut Milliquit @ 3 ml / lit of water T4 - Amrut Milliquit @ 2 ml / lit + Chlorpyriphos @ 2 ml/lit of water T5 – Methyl parathion dusting @ 25 kg/ha T6 – Control

Date of application: 11.12.2009 & 21.12.2009 (at 65 and 75 days after pruning) Observations: Number of mealy bug infested plants

were recorded in each replication before and after application

Conclusion

Results of present investigation proved that botanical insecticide i.e. Amrut Milliquit @ 2ml/lit can be effectively used in the management of mealy bugs with the combination of chlorpyriphos.

Use of Amrut milliquit separately are also found effective in the management of mealy bug at primary stage of infestation.
