Avalanche airbags are supposed to prevent burial. The article in the Avalanche Journal (fall 2012) describes the results of the field test. The field test was done by the Avalanche Prevention Centre of Mountain Rescue Service in Slovakia on the 3rd of April 2012 in Jasna.
