1886 Benz patent motorwagen. The first fast car was made in 1886 and was

called the Benz patent motorwagen fastest it went was 8mph and reason that was the fastest because it was the only car made and the also only had three wheels.

1901 Mercedes 35hpThis had a top speed of 45 mph and that was

surprisingly really fast back then.

1903 Mercedes 60hpThis car had increased speed from only 45

mph all the way to 70 mph in just 2 years looks like they are starting to figure out how to make engines.

1954 Mercedes 300SL Then we move forward 51 years and have

this fast car. This car went 160 mph and had a 3 litre straight 6.

1978 Lamborghini Countach LP400SThe top speed was 180 mph. Lamborghini

claimed 190 mph was possible, even for the earliest examples of the Countach. But nobody achieved 190 mph.

McLaren F1The McLaren broke the record with 240.14

mph. Andy Wallace claimed the first ever road car speed record officially ratified by Guinness.

Hennessey venom GT The venom hit 270.49 mph at the Kennedy

space center of February 14, 2014 becoming the fastest production car in the world beating the Bugatti Veyron super sport previous record of 269.86
