All Egyptians
clothing was made
out of flax, which
was grown along
the Nile river
The first thing
that they would
after it has
been harvested
is to soak it in
water until it
became soft.
Then they would separate the
soft flax and make it into its
fibers then it would be woven
into there clothing.
Clothing for me and
women where usually two
main garments-a tunic,
(either a peplos or chiton)
and a cloak (himation).
Egyptian men and women wore makeup.
They used black kohl eyeliner to line their eyes and darken their eye lashes and eye brows. They coloured their eye lids with blue or green eye shadow made from powdered minerals.
They used Hanna
dye which was used
to color there lips
and nails.
The Greek women would
wear there hair either in
braids, loosely or have
there hair arranged on the
top of there head in
ponytails. They would also
try to curl there hair and
make it blond by bleaching
it. They wanted it blond
because blond hair was
rare to have.
Ancient Grease clothing was
homemade, the same piece of
homespun fabric that was
already used as a garment, or
blanket. Grease had vase
paintings and sculptures, we can
tell that the fabrics were
intensely colored and usually
decorated with lots designs.
They mostly wore berry juice
to tint there lips and eyes,
while they used charcoal for
eyeliner.
What did they wear for
makeup?
Did everyone
wear makeup?
Yes, ladies did
wear makeup
but only lightly
because they
liked pale skin.
If you lived in Rome there a few pieces of clothing you had to
have. the things that you had to have are
these :Toga, Tunic and most
importantly, underwear.
All men had
their hair cut
short and
shaved. After
the time of
Hadrian some
men began
growing beards.
Back then men were
only allowed to wear
one piece of jewelry
and it was usually a
ring to mark wax
while sealing
documents.
The clothes they
made from leather,
wool and flax
where then used
to linen to wrap
mummies.
Both the poor and the rich
wore the same style of cloths
but the rich just wore them
in a higher quality .
Mostly anything that is
neon or lace is really in
style now. Also baggy
sweaters are really in
for when its pouring
rain and you want to
wear something comfy.
People (mostly girls) wear
makeup in there
everyday life. We wear it
because we think that it
makes us look more
beautiful.
