• Being iPhone Users we know the major problem that

Headphones are. They get lost,

tangled very easily, and many people

don’t have them when they need them.

• We needed to have a system that

went into the case but also fit neatly

and still comfortable to hold.

Understand: The Problem

• We decide to look at other products that had the capability to wrap up cords automatically

• One thing that came to mind was a retractable

mouse

• We looked into the ratio between the size of the

center retractable part and the length of the cord.• But for the case we decided on a hard ABS plastic

inner shell

and a rubberized outer coating

-The Retractable Headphones must be detachable and the iPhone case must be held comfortably with and without the special retractable headphone piece.

-Also the Retractable Headphones must be small enough to fit on the case but also large enough to carry enough cord for the user.

Define: Clarifying Requirements

• We wanted a design that was easily detachable with no hassle

• We decided on adding threads to the case to allow easy attachment and detachment.

• We also needed a small part to hold the cords in place. Should be located so they aren’t in the way of the user.
