Visitation House Baby Bottles If you could save a child's life today, would you ? During Lent our parish is participating in a Baby Bot-tle Fundraiser to benefit Visitation House, a Catholic home for homeless pregnant women in crisis. While women await the birth of their babies at the home on Vernon Hill in Worcester, Visitation House feeds, clothes, educates and nurtures them. After the birth of their baby, mothers can stay up to six months and during that time the staff at Visitation House assists them with housing, higher education, job opportunities and furnishes them with the basic necessities to start their new lives. Please support Visitation House by taking a baby bottle and filling it with your spare change during Lent.
The Lenten addition of “The WORD Among Us” is avail-
able at the church doors. Please take one, you will find
it to be a valuable companion during you Lenten Journey.
The next meeting for the Men’s group is on March 7th. New members are always welcome. All meetings are held in the Rectory and are usually the first Saturday of the month beginning at 9:30 am.

A Message from Fr. Bill…
"Looking at the Face of Jesus" is our Lenten theme that
challenges us to look for Jesus in our everyday life so that
we may prepare for Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sun-
day. We have many opportunities for spiritual renewal
this Lent including our Lenten Mission which will focus
particularly on Looking at Jesus in Scripture, the Sacra-
ment of Reconciliation and in the Eucharist.
The forty days of Lent begins with the imposition of ashes
on Ash Wednesday. The ashes are from the burnt palms
from past year's palms. "Repent and believe in the Gos-
pel" or "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall
return." reminds us of our sinfulness and mortality and
the need to repent. The tradition of the 40 days of
Lent goes back to the time Christ spent fasting and pray-
ing in the desert after His baptism by John the Baptist.
The season of Lent is marked by prayer, fasting, almsgiv-
ing and devotions, each of which prepares us for the
Easter season. We welcome and encourage everyone to
use this 40-day period as a season of spiritual renewal.
Please see our Lenten flier with our many opportunities
for spiritual growth. May God bless you during the Lenten
season and help us all to "Look at the Face of Jesus."
