The page was set up by corporate last fall and after some detective work, I was able to get added as an “admin”- someone who can post things

(and now Ruth Ann and Wendy are admins too)

I’ve been posting something every day, roughly following a little schedule I put together

Monday: Inspiration

Tuesday: School activities

Wednesday: Information

Thursday: Promotion of FORTIS

Friday: Humor

but no matter how inspirational or interesting my posts are, it turns out that photos win at the attention game

The bottom 3 posts were normal, 0-10 people liking them

The pinning ceremony photos in April saw 2.1K clicks

Facebook get the college’s name out there, which will promote enrollment

Facebook can help build community with the students, which will aid retention

Facebook is a good place for information dissemination

If we want a good Facebook page, we need:

Communication about future event dates

Good photos of events, student achievements, groups

The Who, What, When, and Where of photos

Send to georgen.charnes@fortisinstitute.eduby email, or

Place in the new FACEBOOK folder◦ G:/Facebook/Submitted

◦ It’s on the ADMIN network (i.e. computers that you can check your work email through Outlook on)

Be sure to provide the Who, What, When, & Where of each photo
