History

• On 1st January 2008, Express News was launched.

• On the same day it was launched from 11 different cities.

• Similarly , Multan office was worked uner Express News from 1st january 2008.

• Firstly, it was established near Chowk Komharan wala.

• But now the office is located near MDA chowk, opposite Water Filteration Plant, Near Pepsi Factory, Jail Road, Multan.

• There are total 24 workers which are working in the office including cook and drivers etc.

• 2 NLE Machines and their Operators and Two Coordinators, One Sub Editor, Four reporters and three cameramen etc.

• Express News Multan has also the latest 1 DSNG (OB vain) which has the technology to broadcast online transmission within 2 minutes from the location.

• Three PD 170 cameras, 1 MD 1000 camera, 1 Sony hd handy camera and 6 television sets for monitoring.

Policy

• There is no hard and fast formula about the policy of news channel but usually anti-government stance would have been taken on different issues.

• But they were not be able to tell the real policy of the channel. In our opinion it was part of their job.

• During Wapda House protest back in 2008, a senior report ‘Mahaad Muhtssam’ got a bullet in his thighs while reporting.

• Ghazal Night with Ustad Gulam Ali Khan.The reporters of Express Multan are very much

quick and clever. Shahdat Hussain, the present Bureau Chief of Sama Multan, was senior reporter of Express News Multan.

Daily Express

Introduction

• The Daily Express founded on 3 September, 1998, is one of Pakistan’s most widely circulated Urdu-language newspapers

• It is published simultaneously from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan and Sukkar. It claims to have a 24% circulation share.

History

• It was started from 1998 from Karachi but overall it was started from August 2002.

• Its main office is located in Karachi but Daily Express Multan is directly connected to Lahore due to the reader’s news taste because there is a difference in Lahore and Karachi in terms of Journalism.

• Daily Express has the largest circulation after ‘Daily Khabrein’ in South Punjab.

• It is due to the fact that Daliy Khabrein has not its office in Rahim Yar Khan but Daily Express has its separate edition from Rahim Yar Khan.

• Daily Express Multan covers the area of Multan division, Dera Ghazi Khan and only Bahawalpur in Bahawalpur division.

Policy

• They are not bound to publish Handout, Press note or Press release etc as it is.

• There is no hard and fast formula about the policy of the newspaper. Anti-government stances would have been observed usually.

Time

• Usually 2 – 2:30 a.m. printing is started and the news before 2 o’clock early in the morning can be included in the morning newspaper.

• And before the sun rise , they are bound to deliver the newspapers to the distributors.

Conlcusion

Express Media Group is well-known media organization of our country. It always follow quality reporting like (on the incident of Karachi Airport attack). And similar type of reporting can be seen in Daily Express Multan. If it continues to report the events with objective approach then sooner or later it will be the largest circulated /broadcast media newspaper/channel of the country.
