Wireless communication

• In terms of telecommunication, wireless communications are be used to transfer information over.

The main aim of wireless technology is to communicate with any thing from any place at anytime .

here thing refers to the information (eg messages, multimedia or voice conversations) on any electronic devices, in order to communicate between two devices.

examples of wireless telecommunications are cellular mobile phones, PDA, satellite television, and cordless telephones.

Provides data rates of 1 to 20 Mbps . Eg wi-fi, fixed wireless data

WANCovers large geographical areas, WAN systems base station, wireless bridging relays. connect public internet access system.

MAN Interconnects several LANS

Cellular mobile phones generations

1G mobile phone Firstly introduced at NTT in 1979. Analogue circuit-switched technology, with FDMA. Works mainly in the (800-900) MHz frequency bands they relied on a network of distributed transceivers to communicate with the mobile phones low traffic capacity, unreliable handover, poor voice quality, and poor security.

2G mobile phone introduced in late 1980’s and early 1990’s with GSM standard. provided with pure digital technology 2G introduced data services for mobile, starting with SMS text messages & multimedia. data rates were only 9.6 kbps.

this technology can have a high uplink rate up to 200Mbps. 4G will bring almost perfect real world wireless or called “WWWW: World Wide Wireless Web A 4G system is expected to provide a secure all-IP based mobile broadband solution to smart phones, laptop computer wireless modems. Facilities such as ultra-broadband Internet access, IP telephony, gaming services, and streamed multimedia may be provided to users.

4G is a research item for next-generation wide-area cellular radio, where you have 1G, 2G, 3G and then 4G [and 5G]

4G is a conceptual framework and a discussion point to address future needs of a high speed wireless network

• Wireless systems becoming an important infrastructure in our society. A virtual global system is a good solution that can efficiently connect many dedicated wireless systems including 2G to 4G cellular systems, wireless LAN, broadcasting systems, etc.
