Further info.
Although 95% of the UK have some sort of security in place in their homes, over half have still gone out locally and forgotten to even close windows and doors, 1 in 5

over the Christmas period.
With statistics showing that there is a 20% increase in home burglaries during darker months, National Home Security Month falls in October to create awareness around
the importance of home security to get people security aware in time for winter.
Week commencing 6th October focuses on window and door security. Many burglars often avoid smashing windows but attempt to force the frame itself, so the campaign will highlight the importance of ensuring all windows are fitted properly and are safe.
“As winter sets in, people’s homes are increasingly at risk of crime and our research underlines that many people could be doing more to prevent possible break-ins. Everest supports Home Security Month because it is essentia l that people lock their doors and windows when they go out, particularly over high risk periods such as Guy Fawkes. Many burglars often avoid smashing windows but attempt to force the frame itself, so households must ensure all windows are f itted properly and are safe.”- Jill McLintock, Everest

Everest Security
Everest was established in 1965 and has grown into one of the most recognised and respected home improvement companies in the UK. Everest offers a range of products that span the breadth of the home
improvement market, including windows, doors, conservatories, roofline products, garage doors, security systems, timber windows, flat roofs and driveways.
Making sure you and your family feel totally safe in your home is one of Everest biggest priorities. That’s why they have taken great care to incorporate the most robust security measures in all our windows and doors. Many
of their windows come with a multi-point stainless steel locking system that’s secured into galvanised steel reinforcement for added rigidity and security.
For your utmost peace of mind, most windows not only meet British Security Standards but actually exceed them. In fact, the most popular uPVC casement window is twice as secure as the standard for security and uses hinge side security brackets for added protection. The timber casement windows are also 50% more secure than the
British Standard for security, while our Timber Sash models have internal security bolts and our dual turn windows all have key locking handles.
All Everest windows are securely beaded to prevent removal of the glass from the outside. Many of them also allow for a night vent position which allows air to circulate while the window
remains locked, keeping yourself and your possessions from the grasp of intruders.
