In what ways does your media product
use,
develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
Our Shot
This is our first shot in the trailer, and is repeated throughout the piece. It is of a ‘zombie’ eating a dead human on CCTV.
A comparable shot
In this shot from the trailer of the movie “Colin” we can see a zombie leaning over someone eating them. This is similar to ours because the same thing is happening in both shots, however they are shot from different angles and ranges.
Our Shot
In this shot our character has burst through the doors and fallen over.
A comparable shot
This is another shot from the movie “Colin” it is similar to our shot in the way there is a person on the floor having fallen over. In both shots the camera appears to be looking down on the characters to make the seem small or weak.
Our Shot
In this shot we wanted it to appear as if Jayden was looking towards the exit sign after falling over as if to highlight a possible route of escape.
A comparable shot
This shot of an exit sign from a low budget zombie film named “Dead Exit” is very similar to the shot we chose because it shows how the people are running towards an exit.
Our Shot
In this shot Jayden has just been struck down by a zombie and we wanted it to look like the life was draining out of him slowly so we used a blink effect and a fade out on this shot to make it look like Jayden was slowly dying.
A comparable shot
This is the teaser trailer from the film “The Hills have Eyes 2” and we have chosen this shot because it shows the feeling of someone being on the floor almost dead but still able to see, which is similar to the shot from our trailer.
Our Shot
We liked this shot because the sunlight in the background and the glass pane windows makes the shot look important and it’s a big part of the film because it when Jayden starts to run from the zombies.
A comparable shot
This is a comparable shot to the one we used because it is the same in the way that there is someone running through doors, there is light in the background outlining the person. It is also similar to ours as they are both medium shots.
Our Shot
In this shot we were trying to build tension by showing a shot of the zombie and between shots he slowly walks towards the camera.
A comparable shot
This is a shot from the 2004 zombie comedy “Shaun of the Dead” We chose to use this shot as a comparable shot to the one we made in our trailer because it shows someone with their back facing towards the camera.
Our Shot
We used this shot because it looks iconic from our film and was one of the important shots as it shows Jayden trying to escape from the zombies.
A comparable shot
We chose this shot as a similar shot to the one we used because it shows someone running down a corridor with light in the background outlining the person. It is also similar to ours as they are both medium shots.
Our Shot
We chose this shot because it looks iconic with Jayden running down some stairs away from a zombie and we think it important because it’s the closest Jayden gets to escaping.
A comparable shot
This is a shot of someone walking up some stairs it is similar to the shot we used in our film because both shots are looking down the stairs and you can see the bottom of the stairs in both pictures.
