Eva’s ProfessionalMakeup Tips

Can we make this woman smile?

1) Spend more time on applying your FOUNDATION and CONCEALER than on applying color for a more important even complexion

- Start with moisturizer or toner to moisten skin

- Select makeup foundation closest to skin tone

- Apply with fingers for light, feathery look

2) Use your fingers, your best makeup tools, like a MAGIC ERASERS

- Use makeup foundation as your concealer for a light, less crepey look - Select color two shades lighter than skin tone - Apply with a nylon concealer brush - Finish with fingers

3) Transfer POWDER to hand before applying

- Use a powder puff- Absorb moisture for a matte finish- Finish with a brush to get rid of excess makeup

4) Use two BLUSHES: one for contour, one for color

- Smile to lift and open up cheekbones- Apply deeper contour shade to cheek hollow- Add lighter color blush to top of cheekbones- Warm temple, hair & jaw lines with color blush- Contour lighter neck & décolleté areas with blush or bronzer

5) Close eyes and raise eyebrows to smooth surface

and avoid eyelid creases when using EYE SHADOW

- Apply color similar to skin tone to overall eye area with a brush - Contour eyes with taupe (darker color for darker skin tones)- Start at middle of eye and work right to left in semi-circles- Apply higher on bone for more contour- Blend with natural oils of finger tops- Dot frosty white shadow on outer and inner corners of eyes under tear ducts

6) Defined EYEBROWS are to the eye what a frame is

to a painting, adding bone structure and balance

- Select eyebrow pencil shade lighter than hair- Fill in natural shape of brow- Start at point of growth using small hair like strokes- With clock as a reference: move to 2:00 and down to 4:00 to arch right brow, 10:00 and to 8:00 on left - Blend with powder puff

7) Use liquid EYELINER, it wears longer than pencil

eyeliner

- Apply finest line to base of upper eyelashes, in brown (navy or gray) for redheads and blondes, black for darker hair- Diffuse line with brown or taupe eyeshadow using a small eye brush for a softer look- Tickle shadow under lower lashes with same brush

8) Look down when applying MASCARA

- Apply simple coat of brown mascara for day, black for night- Select a softer black, charcoal or navy for gray heads- Use extra mascara on corners of lashes for a lifting, more wide-eyed look

9) Use less LIP COLOR the heavier your makeup

application, more if only light makeup

- Use flesh tone lip pencil to outline and extend natural shape of lips- Fill in with pencil and further with lipstick- Apply lipstick with brush for lighter, more natural look

Clean up your face using makeup brush as an eraser

to get rid of any excess color that has fallen astray
