Dear Friends and Family,

Avery meaningful Christmas to you all, remembering and observing th e

wondrous gift of God becoming man for our sake. The cradle had to comebefore the cross and the empty tomb. Praise God for His coming

My fourth year of retirement has settled into a routine. Istill work at th e

church, mostly with seniors, but other small tasks, too. The churchchanged secretaries in August, so there was some filling in to do, along withother volunteers. We lost one dear lady who happened to be in my Life

^roup. Her husband and daughter are also in the group This lady loved towear hats so th e daughter invited all who were willing to wear hats to the

funeral. It wa s a celebration of life. Our whole Life Group pitched in alongwith a couple other women who knew her well to set up, serve and cleanup

a meal for all at the funeral. Many church members helped provide th e

f o o d .

A highlight of January was a long weekend visit from Yaw Ganyo, myGhanaian house helper s son who is studying at Cincinnati ChristianSeminary (to finish next May). I took him to speak at th e church in Eustis,F L f o r t he i r F a it h P r om i se w e e k e n d .

Then in August he came for te n days between summer school and fallterm. We went together for tubing at one of central Florida's wonderfulnatural springs of 72 degree water (br-r-r-r). He went to surf camp (day

only) at Cocoa Beach on e Saturday for our church kids with a younger friendof mine. One day he went to Epcot all by himself, courtesy of a man in th e

church. It was a rainy day, but he saw everything he wanted to. 0In September I flew to East Tennessee and Yaw came there. We both i

spoke at a Faith Promise rally at the church where my wonderful friends,Tom and Barbara Barkes, attend. My brother David took me on the

following Monday to visit Gracie, an elderly first cousin in a nursing home in

Salem, VA I stayed with David and his wife Kathy until my return to FL on

Friday, In TN I also met my newest grandniece Olivia.

My macular degeneration has remained stable and ne w glasses helped soI passed the vision test for the renewal of my driver s license in November.

My vision is 20/30 with glasses. Florida is renewing licenses in stages byrequiring your birth certificate your social security card or legal

substitute a nd t wo e vi de nc es of residential address. The ma n was

surprised I had my original social security card. Now Ican pay th e annual  fee online until license expires in 2019. Iam smiling in my picture

On November 13, our congregation had i ts annual Faith in Action Sunday.

About 150 divided up into seven groups and went to their assigned projects.

A new thing was to measure and bag nutritious meals fo r the Kids Against

Hunger p ro gr am . I was with a group of seven who served a c ol d lunch to

about 150 homeless/indigent people downtown.

On November 17, I drove up to the Atlanta area with Betty Turner,

retired missionary to Japan, for the National Missionary Convention. We

b ot h h ad f ri en ds we could stay with on the south side of Atlanta not far

from the convention center. Thankfully, my friend Marilyn did all the

driving to and fro. We heard excellent sermons, saw videoed testimonies,

Three times this year I have house -a nd-c at 3)-sa t for a lady whos e

The printing of cards for the Jamaica library has gone farther than lastyear but needs to go a lot faster if I am to make the return trip in 2012.

Sorry if I ve bored you. I a m grateful to God to still have the strengthand eyesight to work, visit, drive, lead a Life Group a nd all the rest. I wouldlove to hear from al l of you.
