WORK LIFE IN INDIAN PHILOSAPHY India have not yet managed to develop our own management

style with our own cultural ethos. Foreign countries realizing and rediscovering ancient Indian

philosophy Indian trend appears to be against the use of any indigenous

and Indian ethos and have importing management system and styles from foreign countries.

INDIAN PHILOSOPHY In Indian philosophy human capacity is much

more important than plant capacity Quality of mind and heart is more important than

quality circle Modernization of man is more important than

modernization of machineries. in Indian philosophy individual is concerned as

supreme, if the individual is good, world is good.

Indian philosophy regards work as worship and consumer as god himself

“we are not doing the customer a favour by serving them, rather the customer is doing a favour by giving us an opportunity to serve them ”

Service should be provided with a detached mind

MAN’S UNIQUE INNER RESOURCE

Indian ethos states that every soul on earth is a potential of god, a part of Devine.

The Indian rituals of praying different animals and plant Divinity in man can lead him to perfection in knowledge,

wisdom and power. Due to divinity man has immense potential capacity for

self development and self improvement . Achieve impossible goals and over come monumental obstacles It motivates people to function by reinforcing that they are not working alone

HOLISTIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MAN AND NATURE

There is an intimate relationship between man and universe All human beings and nature are interconnected and

interdepended. Darma of life is to service each other Every thing in the world depends upon somebody for their

survival India ethos emphasis on both spirit and matter Man is permitted to enjoy both internal and external quality of life

COOPERATION WITH EACH OTHER

Indian ethos stress upon team spirit for peaceful co existence and mutual interdependence.

Excess competition give rise to stress, tension and frustration.

Cooperation ,mutual trust team spirit, joint efforts and respect leads to all round

prosperity and success for every one concerned

SELF MANAGEMENT

Man should control himself first before controlling anybody.

Manager must know himself, his strength , weakness ,his dreams, desire, goals and ambitions

Proper control ,harmony and integration between mind emotions intellect and soul is the essence of self management

Self analysis through introspection is essential to know and discover ones self

Introspection involves self examination of ones own thoughts ,feelings ,emotions passions ,dreams and desires ,goals and ambitions etc.

YOGA AND MEDITATION

yoga stands for excellence and meditation for concentration

Meditation helps to solve many complex problems of the organization demanding higher consciousness.

Meditation results in a calm mind which helps ones to focus on problems in a more clear frame of mind .

DHARMA

Dharma in Indian philosophy means duty Dharma stands for all those ideals , philosophies

, purpose , teaching and experience that shape owns character.

Darma in the sense of ones duty, is different and specific for every one in the organization .

THE SPIRIT OF RENUNCIATION

It is also called as spirit of sacrifice or spirit of tyaga.

One is called upon to renounce all inner carving and sensual enjoyment of outer object

Renunciation result in mental peace and inner growth.

Renunciation of attachment of material thing and the aims and values of lower order of life result in rise to higher level of consciousness
