ABOUT Eric Palm
I’m a communications and design professional with a wide range of skills. I have a passion for design, photography and geeking out on all things digital.
Throughout my 15-year career in newspaper journalism, I've been a photographer, reporter, copy editor and designer. My career has taken me from being a manager at a small-town, 20K-circulation paper to editing and designing for one of the best known news brands in the world, The New York Times.
As the industry has changed, I've been changing with it by picking up new skills in videography, web design, and social media while pursuing a degree in digital media. I've been able to leverage my experience and new skills to meet the needs of the nonprofit sector and corporate communications for companies like Lockheed Martin and The Walt Disney Company.

The New York Times Orlando Sentinel 2008 Election
I was a designer and editor for a weekly section that was distributed in 21 foreign newspapers in English
or the country’s official language.
I designed and edited various sections of the Orlando Sentinel. The Sunday Lake section (above)
provided an illustration challenge for a purely numbers story.
Deadlines are a given on any given night at a daily newspaper, and
processing the flood of information on election nights takes a lot of patience and advance planning.
