Publishing WCI Collab Documents to the KD

You can publish a document or file, thereby creating a link to it in the Portal Knowledge Directory. The published file must be approved by the portal administrator before it becomes accessible to portal users. If you already have Admin permission to the destination folder in the Knowledge Directory, the published file is automatically approved.

You should have a good understanding of the portal Knowledge Directory before performing this operation.

Go to the Documents functional area of the Collaboration Project.

Select the Document you wish to Publish to the KD, then select the Publish icon.

Select the Browse button to choose the target folder in the KD.

In the Choose Target Folder pop-up, you can either search for your folder or navigate to the folder by selecting the “+” icons.

Select the desired KD Folder, then select the OK button.

Your Document has been published to the Knowledge Directory folder. Access to the published version from the Knowledge Directory inherits the access settings of the parent Knowledge Directory folder.

For example, if the Everyone group has Read access to the Knowledge Directory folder, the version of the Oracle WebCenter Collaboration document published will be accessible from the Knowledge Directory by all users, including Guest Users.11
