Baptism is symbolic

of being in the Body of Christ

It is symbol –

• a mark that you belong• It is a rite of passage

It is the mark of “belonging”

• All the Christians in the bible had followed the Lord in being batised

• Baptism in water is practiced & taught were ever Christians were

1CO 12:12-13

• [KJV] [1 Corinthians 12:12] For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

• 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Baptised in the body

• Now you are part of that body• It is the place where you are

born – fed – taught – grow – participate

3000 baptised into body

• Enjoyed the fellowship of that body

• Repent & be baptised – this is the 1st message of the Gospel – the good news

All Christians ought to be baptised

• The bible firmly teaches that water baprism is part of Christianity

ACT 2:41-47

• [KJV] [Acts 2:41] Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

• 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

• 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

• 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

• 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

• 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

• 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
