Addis Ababa (February, 2016)— H.E Engi-
neer Aisha Mohammed, Minister of Culture
and Tourism of Ethiopia met with the Minis-
ter of Culture of Israel, Miri Regev in Israel.
The two ministers discussed new ways of
boosting the cultural dialogue and exchanges
from both sides.

Addis Ababa (February, 2016)—Ambassador
Belaynesh Zevadia and Ethiopian Foreign Af-
fairs Minister Tewodros Adhanom deliberated
on strengthening bilateral ties between Israel
and Ethiopia. Academic exchanges and train-
ings and MASHAV activities were among the
discussion points.

Kigali (February, 2016)— Shalom
Club was launched in Rwanda on Feb.
17th on an event held at Urban Hotel
in Kigali. During the event, Rwandan
MASHAV alumni came together to
establish the club and members were
elected as technical commissions in
each fields to lead the Shalom Club
Rwanda in its future endeavors.

Addis Ababa (February, 2016), The African Union
expressed its appreciation to the contribution and
solidarity of Israel in the fight against Ebola. The

Addis Ababa (February, 2016)—A Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Is-
rael’s Agency for International Development Coop-
eration, MASHAV and the Embassy of Kingdom
of the Netherlands. The agreement lets the two
countries to work together in the field of develop-
ment of small scale irrigation and horticulture in
Ethiopia.

Kigali (February,2016)— A professional team
from Israel travelled to Rwanda to start the plan-
ning of the Center of Excellence in Agriculture.
The center will be jointly run by the MINAGRI,
Rwandan Ministry of Agriculture and Mashav,
the Israel agency for international Development
Cooperation. The center will focus on horticul-
ture, fruits and vegetables development.

February, 2016
Addis Ababa (February, 2016)— A discussion on trilat-
eral cooperation in Ethiopia between Bmz-Giz-Mashav-
MFA CINADCO took place in Addis Ababa GIZ com-
pound. The Israeli-German cooperation helps to realize
financial and knowledge synergies. The joint efforts will
be implemented in local projects that support sustaina-
ble economic and social development especially in Afar
Region.
Meanwhile, Israeli and Italian Ambassadors deliber-
ated on promoting trilateral efforts on improving quality
of Health care in Ethiopia. The discussion is believed
to be an important step for Israel's Development and In-
ternational Cooperation activities in Ethiopia, among
others countries in Africa. Mr. Ilan Fluss led the brain-
storming session together with his Italian colleague Mr.
Ginevra Letizia.

Addis Ababa (February, 2016)- A training enti-
tled Plant, Soil, Water Relationship and Irriga-
tion system took place in Bahirdar. The platform
trained 30 Water Engineers and Agronomists to
have thorough understanding of irrigation
schemes.
Two Israeli experts Livid Kate and Mollie Sacks
gave theoretical and practical trainings on the
platform organized by Canadian-Dutch-Israeli-
Ethiopian collaboration.

Addis Ababa (February, 2016)—A Steering Commit-
tee meeting on the Joint Technical Program of
USAID-MASHAV and the Ethiopian Ministry of
Agriculture took place at the Ministry’s compound.

cussed the way forward of the new fourth) phase pro-
gram for Small holders Horticultural project (SHP)
in Ethiopia
New phase: Joint Technical Program of USAID-MASHAV
Addis Ababa (February, 2016)—A delegation of African
Heads of Universities, which among them are from Ethi-
opia and Rwanda, traveled to Israel to take part in expe-
rience sharing meetings that took place in Israeli Univer-
sities. Heads of Kigali, Gondar, Woldia, Jigjiga and Dire
Dawa universities participated on the platform which
aimed to promote academic ties between the countries.

Fighters for life to volunteer in Gondar
Addis Ababa (February, 2016)— Czech Republic and
Israel will continue their trilateral cooperation with
Ethiopia in the development of the agricultural sector.
Since the cooperation in the past was successful and
Ethiopian farmers benefited manifold from the joint
efforts, representatives of both countries agreed to push
forward on the meeting that took place at the Czech
Embassy in Addis Ababa on February 19th.
Republic of Czech aid agency and MASHAV join hands in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa (February, 2016)— An Israeli non-profit
organization Fighters for life presented its plans, to
DCM Leo Vinovezky, to bring meaningful community
services to Ethiopia, Gondar region. The organization is
established by recently released Israeli soldiers who
choose to volunteer in developing countries around the
world, after serving in the military. The volunteers will
provide community support to children in Gondar.

Talking cultural and artistic collaborations
Addis Ababa (February, 2016)— Our DCM, Leo Vi-
novezky took part at Aid & Development Africa Sum-
mit in Addis. The Summit brought together over 300
humanitarian experts from regional government, local
and international NGOs, UN agencies and the private
sector. The two days thought-provoking discussions fo-
cused on how technological innovations and best prac-
tice can improve aid delivery and development strategy
in East Africa. Israel, can be of help, no question.

Israel Embassy (February, 2016)— Ambassador Be-
laynesh Zevadia and DCM Mr. Leo Vinovezky had a
special meeting with the prominent artist Abebe Feleke
on how to strengthen cultural relations between Ethio-
pia and Israel. The discussion called back on the com-
mon history of the two countries as a foundation for
cultural activities which will tighten their lasting bond.

Ambassador Belaynesh Zevadia meets with her Brazilian counterpart
Addis Ababa (February, 2016)— Brazil’s Ambassador
to Ethiopia Octavio Henrique Dias Garcia Cortes met
with Ambassador Belaynesh Zevadia in her office. The
newly appointed Brazilian Ambassador and Ambassa-
dor Belaynesh discussed existing bilateral relations
between Israel and Brazil and possible area of collabo-
ration in Ethiopia. Ambassador Belaynesh wished
Ambassador Octavio Henrique productive years ahead.
