About the Author

Patricia Reilly Giff• Likes to make children’s books as well as

young adults books. • She was born, raised, and still lives in

Connecticut.

My Excerpt

The excerpt of my book is when Sam is trying to find his birthday presents in the basement. He opens a box thinking it is his presents, but it is filled with newspapers and one of them has a picture of Sam as a little boy. At the top of the picture, lies the word “Missing.”

Why I choose my excerpt?

I choose this part to be my excerpt because it makes the story mysterious, exciting, and it makes me want to find out what happens at the end of the book.
