Transcript of Elevating provider engagement to next level

What is engagement?

Wikipedia defines “engagement” across seven dimensions…

A physician ‘engages’ across six of these seven dimensions!

Broader definition of engagement will mean an opportunity to expand interaction between life sciences and physicians

How to facilitate a meaningful “interaction” with the physicians or providers?

How do we “connect” in a seamless manner with physicians?

What are the right topics for “communication” with them?

What is the strength of “relationship” that we have developed with physicians?

Historically “physician/ provider” engagement has been designed around a set of specific themes

Now is the opportunity & time to shift to a more collaborative model with physician, extending the relationship beyond usual engagement

How do we “involve” the physicians or we “participate” in their process of improving care?

How do we effectively define the “scope” and “timelines” of these efforts to make them more productive?

Will this lead to a long-term “attachment” as we decide to play on the same team?

This would translate into helping physicians characterize the patient at the most detailed level

Help physicians characterize patient at the detailed granular level (demographics, diagnostics, genomics

etc.)

Patient Profiling

Aggregate data, perform analysis,

compare outcomes using historical

datasets and develop benchmarks

Data Analysis

Presenting treatment options to the

physicians to help them make more informed choices

Point-of-Care

Delivering patients personalized

medicines and improving health

outcomes

Personalized RxRx Options

Using the analysis to help identify the best possible treatment options for every

individual patients

Personalized patient profiling requires development of dual ecosystem focusing on(a) aggregation + analysis, and (b) distributing information

Personalized patient profiling

Aggregating data & generating insights requires data to be collected from multiple sources to develop a complete pictureof the patientTypes of data sources from where data comes in & types of insights that are generated:

Better understanding of disease patterns and trends at a granular level

Evaluating patient outcomes for different treatment options, and outlining the potential side effects of treatments for specific patients

Correlating phenotype and genotype information to help precision treatment

Aggregation + Analysis

Different aggregation models have their strengths and associated challenges

There are different aggregation models to work with physicians and collect this data and generate insights:

Single entity driven patient

data hub

Commercial multi-entity model

Third-party driven

marketplace model

Aggregation + Analysis

Second part of the ecosystem focuses on sharing back the information with the physician

Patient Profiling: System derives relevant information and clinical insights from the entire distributed health network and share that information with the concerned physician

Referencing Database: System looks into the central repository and share relevant analyses results, such as best treatment options, expected outcomes, biomarkers, side effects, etc.

Referencing Literature: Develop a summary of most recent and relevant medical literature pertaining to the condition to complement the above two pieces of information

Distributing information

Physician’s engagement and involvement during this personalized patient profiling and treatment recommendation journey

Some of the learnings as we worked on these models

And then there are exciting innovations coming in …

… and the horizon of opportunities is endless …
