Who is going?

• 44 pupils – 27 girls, 17 boys• 5 staff – Mr Ross, Mr Lund, Mr

Perez, Mrs Long, Miss Cheese

The Itinerary• FRIDAY 14TH JUNE• 06.20 – meet at school• 06.50 – Depart! • 11.20 – Folkestone-Calais Eurotunnel• 12.50 – arrrive Calais• PM – visit to a boulangerie, then

onward travel to Paris.• Evening meal in restaurant

Brief Itinerary

• SATURDAY – 8.15 – leave hotel – Guided tour of Paris, Flunch lunch, Pompidou centre, restaurant dinner

• SUNDAY – 9.30 – leave hotel – Stade de France, Flunch lunch, Boat trip, Montparnasse tower, evening meal at hotel

• MONDAY – 8.00 – leave hotel – Parc Asterix, evening meal at hotel

Return details

• 09.00 – Depart hotel

• 10.30 – visit Sacre-Coeur and Montmartre (packed lunch)

• 13.00 – Leave Paris

• 19.20 – Eurotunnel from Calais

• 18.55 – Arrive Folkestone

• 22.30 – estimated arrival at school

FOOD:

• The first meal provided is the evening meal – students will need to either bring a packed breakfast/lunch, or money (£/€)

• Breakfast – in accommodation• Lunches – vouchers provided (up to 11€) or

packed lunches• Evening – in restaurants/at accommodation• No evening meal on Tuesday• Fussiness! You are going to a different country –

and so the food may be different. A willingness to try other things is essential!

Behaviour in hotel

• Represent Devizes school• Mealtimes – compulsory –

breakfast/dinner• Bedtimes –will vary depending on next

day’s departure time• Behaviour on corridors – respect others• No boys in girls’ bedrooms and vice versa• Safety at all times

Behaviour on excursions

• Representing Devizes School – school trip, not a holiday.

• Politeness – behaviour in and around towns

• Minimum groups of 3. Looking out for eachother.

• Misbehaviour – “babysitting” by teacher• Ultimate penalty – sent home at

parents’ expense

Behaviour in Paris/Parc Asterix

• School groups – natural “target” for pickpockets etc.

• Know where staff will be – listen!• Registers/meeting points• It is busy! If you do get lost, stay still – you’ll

be a lot easier to locate!• All pupils will have an emergency contact

number for staff• Behaviour contract• Consequences of poor/dangerous behaviour

Kit List• SMALL case/bag + day bag• Towel + toiletries – hair dryer share!• Comfortable shoes – lots of walking!• Light coat/waterproofs• Clothes – no offensive motifs, representing school • Camera, Spare batteries• A watch!• Sun cream, sunglasses, Tissues, hat• Dictionary, pens/pencils, book to read?• Food – snacks for bus – no fizzy drinks, not too

many sweets• No chewing gum!• Sports stuff?

Money, valuables

• OPTIONAL – hand money in to Mr Lund on coach - Mr Lund to control “bank”

• Mobiles – very expensive to use!• Cameras (batteries, films)• iPods/mp3s etc. – your responsibility –

but must NOT be worn on excursions!• Spending money (50€?)• Pounds/Euros

The coach

• Toilet – emergency use only!• Keep to drivers’ rules• SEATBELTS - €135 fine on the spot!• Children may not sit directly next to

emergency escape.• Traffic – opposite side - Care when

getting off!• Litter!

Safety, medical, security

• Always in groups of at least three, NEVER alone

• Belongings – bag/pockets – common sense

• Medication handed in?• Travel sickness• Staff to carry basic first aid, but no drugs• Photos
