Functions of an ETQA

• Accredit constituent providers• Promote quality amongst providers• Evaluate assessments and facilitate

moderation amongst providers• Register constituent assessors for

specified standards and qualifications

Functions of an ETQA

• Certify learners• Co-operate with moderating bodies

appointed by SAQA• Recommend new standards and/or

qualifications or modification to existing ones to SAQA

• Maintain a database acceptable to SAQA

Criteria for accreditation

• Quality Management System• Registration in terms of

applicable legislation• Ability to develop, deliver and

evaluate learning programmes• Management of assessments

including RPL and appeals

Criteria for accreditation

• Financial, administrative and physical resources

• Staff selection, appraisal and development

• Learner entry, guidance and support• Management of off-site practical or

work-site components• Reporting procedures

ISETTSETA ETQA Division:• Receives request/letter of intent• Checks for fit with primary focus• Sends Accreditation documentation

THE PROVIDER• Completes the application form• Submits complete application form with

required documents
