Mentoring with Kristi

Later I came back to mentor Kristi using my scavenger hunts.

She was very excited about this writing prompt site.

Observation with Michelle Boer

Sioux Falls Christian Schools

Mrs. Boer uses her SmartBoard everyday!

• She uses it for everyday tasks as well as teaching.

7th graders, graphing calculators, and me! (help!!!)

• Mrs. Boer’s room is a fun place to be.

Jeopardy for review• She used PowerPoint to create the

game

Mentoring with Mr. Fopma

I taught my five lessons in Mr. Fopma’s 7th and 8th grade language arts classes. I also shared my scavenger hunts with him. In one of my lessons, I took the students to visuwords, an online graphical dictionary. He liked this site and the Writing Fix site.

Mentoring Mrs. Shives, SFC social studies teacher

I was happy to mentor Mrs. Shives because I had designed my scavenger hunt for various curricular areas. This newspaper clipping generator was appealing to her (as well as to Mr. Fopma). I also found a great site about ancient Egypt that she enjoyed looking at.

Summary

I enjoyed my mentoring experiences and found that I knew more than I thought I did.

I also enjoyed my observations. Lots of the teachers had problems with their technology, but they dealt with it (think Plan B!)

One of the best experiences was watching 4- year-olds at Chester try to help the teacher

with the SmartBoard!
