Teachers and students are actively engaged in the use of technology at

Lorenzo de Zavala MS. All classrooms are equipped with a smart board as well as individual student computers

and or laptops.

Overview: Technology integration in the classroom environment is vital to our 21st century learners. The Government, State, and District all work together to provide a plan to incorporate technology and media tools for our students. Professional development for educators on the use of student-centered technology use is a key area for improvement in our district and state.

Library Media Center

The library at de Zavala Middle School provides personal computers with internet as well as an interactive white board and overhead. The library also has several books on cassette, e-books, and a video section.

Smart Boards

Every classroom is set up with interactive white boards that both the teachers and students utilize. This particular smart board is in Ms. AnikaPena’s 8th grade Science classroom.

ALEX program

Our district and campus has an account with ALEX which is an interactive Math program and GIZMOS.

Labs

De Zavala Middle School is set up with a Technology lab, a multi-media classroom, and a Career and Tech classroom. Teachers like Mr. Tony Ghaffarian (above) are able to facilitate students in the learning process as the students use technology to enhance their knowledge.
