Simplicity is Important!!!!!

It is very important that you keep your slides simple and not fill them with too much text or to many graphics. This will only serve to distract your audience as they will attempt to read all the text you provide them. The fact that it is on the slide indicates to them that it is important information. Too much text also means that it is harder for your audience to read and they will spend all their time trying to decipher the small font that you have had to use so that you can fit everything onto your slide. It is better to use bullets points for your major points. This will emphasize what you are saying, rather than distract from it. Remember: the more they are reading the less they are listening to what you have to say. Also, graphics that have nothing to do with the information on the slide also serve as a source of distraction. So, while that little lamb is really cute, it does little to illustrate my point. We will talk more about that later.
