The brand has objected to a conversation between actors Ranbir Kapoor and Tanvi Azmi which shows the brand “in the manner which is detrimental to the interests of brand and the parent organization.”

X is the second stage in the life cycle of a Xenomorph. Its bony finger-like legs allow it to crawl rapidly and its long tail can launch it in great distances. The X is a parasite, its only purpose is to make contact with the host's mouth for the implantation process, by gripping its long, bony finger-like legs around the victim's head and wrapping its tail around the host's neck, then slowly tightening the tail in order to make the host gasp for oxygen and be rendered unconscious. By this point, the X will have inserted a tube-like proboscis into the mouth and down the throat of the host, supplying the host with oxygen while implanting an embryo.

It came back in news last month with Internet jokes suggesting that, after a certain incident, Y should be renamed as X.

7. X was a brand of cologne created by Y. The most famous newspaper

advertisement of X had the tagline “Oh, how the ghost of you clings." and an image of a woman adjusting her stockings. According to a letter from the CEO of Y, on whom the company is named, to Angela Neuberg, director of the Cosmetics division of the company, they choose slightly androgynous women to appeal to the gay market.

According to the CEO, the success of the range was down to the romantic atmosphere and soft focus of the ad campaign. The marketing strategy conveyed an idyllic idea of a modified, half-remembered past due to a withdrawn sense of global uncertainty and the belief of an unstable future among the populous.

The X line was discontinued after a man-made disaster in1986 to make way for a new line called Millennium, whose ads featured imagery that reflected upon a utopian vision.

A certain multinational company X moved to the Delhi High Court against the release of the 2014 film Y. X's plea, filed by advocate Bitika Sharma, had sought “restraining them (producers) from launching their movie under the impugned title Y which is nothing but a blatant imitation of the plaintiff's (X) registered trademark”.  X also alleged that it had issued a cease and desist notice to the producers to refrain from “advertising, promoting and releasing” the film, but instead of communicating with it in any manner whatsoever, ”they (producers) have deliberately chosen to escalate the promotion and advertisements”.

In the end, the two parties settled amicably and Y got to retain the title but on the condition of displaying a disclaimer on the title credits of the movie, theatrical trailers and the end slate in all their official digital media communications.

7. In 1974, three years after it was founded, the company X found itself in

debt due to rising fuel prices and the founder had $5000. He took the company's last $5,000 to a Las Vegas blackjack table after the company was denied a vital business loan. Had his bet gone awry, X would not have been able to foot a $24,000 fuel bill and it could have killed the company.

Robert Frock describes the episode in his book, Changing How The World Does Business : X’s Incredible Journey to Success - The Inside Story :-

“I asked him where the funds had come from, and he responded, ‘The meeting with the General Dynamics board was a bust and I knew we needed money for Monday, so I took a plane to Las Vegas and won $27,000.’ I said, ‘You mean you took our last $5,000-- how could you do that?’ He shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘What difference does it make? Without the funds for the fuel companies, we couldn't have flown anyway.’ His luck held again. It was not much, but it came at a critical time and kept us in business.”

13. X was an online social networking and microblogging service marketed

to Cuban users, created in 2010 by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Recent news reports allege that the US government covertly developed the service as a long-term strategy to encourage Cuban youths to revolt against the nation's government, creating a “Cuban Spring”. The initiative also appears to have had a surveillance dimension, allowing “a vast database about Cuban X subscribers, including gender, age, receptiveness and political tendencies” to be built. The word X is Cuban slang for a hummingbird's call.

Contractors, funded by USAID, “set up a byzantine system of front companies using a Cayman Islands bank account, and recruited unsuspecting executives who would not be told of the company's ties to the U.S. government.”, according to an Associated Press report, which dubbed X as the “Cuban Y”. While initially the service attracted subscribers by having discussions on topics such as sports, the plans were to introduce political messages to encourage dissent. After the Associated Press released an exposé in April 2014, the US government acknowledged that it funded the ‘discreet’ service.
