The function performed by the PDCE (Deionizer Lightning Rod of Electrostatic Charge by the acronym in Spanish) is the detention of the Lightning formation process, inhibiting the Ionization effect.
This Technological innovation furnishes the creation of a balanced electrical atmosphere between the ground and the structure to be protected. During a storm, a potential load differences between cloud and the ground appears; this differences is concentrated on the more predominant point of the ground. This new technology transforms the Lightning into electric current conducted to the ground by the ground wire
In other words the EDD is an unpolarized electrode not polarized collector used as a vehicle for collective protection in any type of structure on land or sea.

B. Franklin proved, based on Ohm's and Joule Law, that in the atmosphere coexist two types of currents (negative and positive). During the storm formation, the cloud called Cumulonimbus becomes a primary electric capacitor generating a high-voltage field in large-scale, modifying the behavior or the electrical atmosphere and varying the resistance values (R) and inductance (L). The phenomenon causes the appearance of a variable electrical resistance on ground that exceeds the limits of air electric resistance and electrifies the elements on ground. The value of this electric field on earth is directly proportional to the cloud load and inversely proportional to the low electrical resistance of the elements set on ground. Its value changes from 120 V / m at very high voltage.
THE IONIZATIONA constant electric field results in ionization of ground exposed elements that create ways to communicate electrical tracers (cloud-to-ground) opening a conductive path for charging energy as lightning. The peak elements (like the Franklin Lightning rod for example) increase the possibility of the loads circulation through them.
Depending on the conditions of the dielectric air, the value of the electric field of high tension, facilitates the transfer's charges in ionizers elements, the load and speed of the cloud, the lightning strikes possibility could be increased.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION LIGHTNING EDDThe EDD Is a capacitor connected to ground by the lower electrode and exposed to the atmosphere through the upper electrode. The EDD is a non polarized electrode and has the ability to dissipate 640000 Volts per microsecond, canceling the ionization process one meter away without producing lightning discharge or dead short. On land, opposite charges are induced and ascend by the predominating elements on ground, depending on the intensity and polarity of the cloud load. If there are electrical conductors, the charges would use this as transport vehicle of interchange, caused by their lower resistance to compensate the potential difference. The EDD doesn’t need tension, the lower head is negatively charged and induces the upper head to balance the potential difference attracting opposite sign charges. During the increase of the potential difference between the two electrodes an orderly flow of electrodes appears (current) that leaks to ground and prevents the capacitor from charging, transforming the loads into a small current. The result is a weak flow of current (microamps) conducted to ground continuously (during the storm) aborting the high tension electrical field. (during the storm) canceling the electric field lines.
Ionization appears at 1,200 volts on any element exposed to a high voltage electrical field. Ionization generates a constant saturation of air (dielectric) and the appearance of tracers in the air or ionized paths where energy can flow and lightning discharge can appear. Any grounded capacitor exposed to a high voltage electrical field, would generate a potential difference internally in its electrodes, giving the appearance of a current ordered flow, when one electrode is referenced to ground. So the capacitor can´t be charged because it has a constant leak to ground, this process inversed to ionization is called deionization.
