Technology and Me

A personal timeline of educational technology

Overview

My name is Shelby Tobler.I started preschool in 1989 and graduated from

high school in 2001. I was home-schooled all the way through.

I first went to college at Leeward Community College in 2002 and I graduated with my B.S. in Family Resources at UH Manoa in 2008.

When I finish my Master’s degree, I will be a secondary education English teacher.

My definition of educational technology

Tools and resources that are used for the purpose of strengthening and expanding mental processes of individuals working independently or of students in a classroom. Technology consists of devices, whether electronic or manual, that facilitate learning.

My vision of the classroom of the future

I would like to see my students with the world at their fingertips; I would like to see them technologically literate so that they will recognize that the world IS at their fingertips.
