WhatisDemandResponse?Itisaprogramthatencouragescustomerstoreducedemand,therebyreducingthepeakdemandforelectricityamongtheutilitypowersystem.Demandresponseallowsend-useelectriccustomerstoreducetheirelectricalusageinagiventimeperiod,inresponsetoautilitypowersystemreliabilityandfinancialincentive.MDAndersonhasandisparticipatinginDRprogramsforbothElectricalReliabilityCouncilofTexas(ERCOT)andCenterPointEnergyCPE.Lastyearseveralgeneratorsranfor4hoursshedding4MWofpowerfromthegridandprovingthatourEPSSisoperatingasintendedduringpeakdemandtime.
