Eating Habits

How Does it Affect Our Skin?

Does it really affect our skin?

Although it may not cause acne directly, it does play an important role in our skin renewal. Since the skin on our body is constantly under construction, it needs vitamins and nutrients from the foods we eat to repair and rebuild. If the foods we are intaking are not beneficial to our body, the skin will not renew properly. This can cause blockage of glands and pores resulting in acne development.

Foods With Vitamin A Take in consideration salmon, carrots, spinach, and broccoli when planning your next meal. These options contain vitamin A which helps regulate the skin cycle which prevents the glands and pores from getting clogged.

Foods with Selenium The selenium mineral is an antioxidant that can help protect the skin from sun damage. Foods that contain selenium include tuna, salmon, eggs, and brown rice.

Drink Lots of Water! Water helps hydrate your body which in turn leads to healthier, plump skin. Water also helps with flushing out any toxins that we have in our systems. In general, it is recommended to drink five to eight glasses of water each day to obtain the benefits that water brings to our system.
