Henry Hudson

(1565-1611)

Henry Hudson was born in Englandand became an explorer when he grew

up.

He planned to sail to China, but he landed in Canada in 1609.

He died in 1611 stuck in a small boat at Hudson Bay.

Samuel de Champlain

(1567-1635)

Samuel de Champlain was a French explorer who

explored a lot of the U.S.

He led 32 colonists to Quebec in 1608.

He returned to France to become governor and died

from a stroke in 1635.
