Core Knowledge & Skills

This block of courses introduces the con-

cepts, theory and application of electrical,

mechanical and fluid power systems to

develop a foundational understanding.

The skills gained from this block of courses

will be further developed in later courses

and through three additional blocks: Me-

chanical Maintenance, Electrical Mainte-

nance, and Electrical and Instrumentation.

Courses Within This Block

Electrical & Instrumentation

This block of courses builds on skills

developed in the electrical maintenance

courses by introducing new concepts for

electrical control such as timers, variable

speed drives and programmable controllers.

Also, participants will be introduced to

instrumentation and process control system

components and operation.

Courses Within This Block

Instrumentation & Controls

The Instrumentation & Controls Program is

made up of four blocks of courses compris-

ing different skills training: Core Knowledge &

Skills; Electrical Maintenance; Electrical

Instrumentation; and Mechanical

Maintenance.

Students will receive a certificate of

completion for every course completed.

They may take one or two courses OR

complete entire blocks of courses for larger

certificates.
