Dance Trip
On 24 February 2014, the Dance Department took 54 students and sta to The Marlowe Theatre to see Thriller Live
the Musical. The show was fantasc and the students enjoyed a fun packed spectacular full of dancing, great hits
and excing staging and lighng. The students were a pleasure to take out for the evening and all felt that it was a
valuable experience. Along with the obvious academic benets, the trip was to reward students that have worked
consistently hard throughout the year. One student from each class was selected for highest achievement and
eort since September 2013 and given a paid cket from the Department. Well done to Elizabeth Burrows, Alanta
Kramer, DemiPlanson and Fleur White!Workshop
On 25 February 2014 Dance students were fortunate enough to be invited to take part in a commercial street
dance workshop with former Academy student Joe Ingleton (centre in picture). Joe graduated from the Academy in
2012 with an A* in GCSE Dance. He won a scholarship at the presgious Millennium Performing Arts School. Joe
has just returned from a world cruise as principal dancer with the 5* Princess Cruise company. At the age of 19 he
has danced in New Zealand, Australia, Bora Bora, LA and Hawaii. We were privileged that Joe was able to perform at our opening ceremony last term for our evening guests where
the students were so inspired that they asked him to come back and work with them. The two hour class was a
huge success, allowing the dancers to gain top quality knowledge and experse from a current professional.Names of students that took part (from le to right):India Mackenzie, Fleur White, Sophie Bang, Holly Pilkington,
Lisa King, Megan Russon, Alanta Kramer, Kae Kitching,ElizbethBurrows and Ocean Kramer.Chantelle CrofskeyHead of Dance
