DYMATDYMAT is an international association for the promotion of research into the dynamic behaviour of materials and its applications. Every three years, an international conference is organized by DYMAT. The last conference took place in Freiburg, Germany (2012). The next conference will take place in Lugano, Switzerland (7-11 September 2015). It is organized in collaboration with the DynaMat Laboratory of the SUPSI- University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland.
ObjectiveThe objective of the triennial international DYMAT conferences is to create a forum where people involved in scientific research or industrial applications related to the dynamic behaviour of materials can meet and discuss results and ideas by means of a series of presentations (oral and poster) and a small-scale technical exhibition. Delegates from all nations, European as well as non-European, are invited to attend the conferences and to make contributions.
TopicsThe topics presented at the DYMAT conferences cover theoretical, numerical and experimental approaches to the various methods used to study the mechanical and physical behaviour of metals ceramics polymers and composites at high strain rates. People are also invited to present work based on specific industrial applications (the dynamic behaviour of materials is relevant in a multitude of situations ranging from automobile crashes and terminal ballistics to space exploration). As well as the traditional DYMAT conference themes, the organizers of DYMAT 2015 would also like to have two special sessions, the first one covering novel experimental techniques, the second one dealing with practical applications related to biomechanics.
Conference VenueThe DYMAT 2015 conference will be held in Lugano at the “Palazzo dei Congressi” Conference Center. Lugano is located in the italian speaking southern Canton of Switzerland, situated at the border with ltaly. lts special geographical position and warm welcome always displayed towards foreigners make Lugano a truly cosmopolitan city. Lugano is easily accessible by car, train and plane.
PublicationAs in the previous conference there are two pub-lication options for the 11th International DYMAT Conference:
1) Contibutions of up to 6 pages to the pro-ceedings book which will be published in the well-known DYMAT format by the European Physical Journal - Web of Conference (EPJ – WoC - ISSN: 2100-014X)
2) Peer-reviewed original papers to specifically dedicated thematic volume of the European Physical Journal – Special Topics (EPJ ST, Impact factor 2012: 1.796, ISSN 1951-6355). The original paper (max 35 papers) can either be a 5-10 pages contribution or a 3-5 pages short study
All submissions have to refer to one of the following topical areas:
• ExperimentalTechniques• MicrostructuralEffects• Biomechanics• Modeling&NumericalSimulation• IndustrialApplications
Authors are kindly requested to submit Abstracts for the proceeding contributions before Octo-ber 31, 2014 and Peer Reviewed Papers before November 15, 2014.
