The tree – art activitiesKindergarten no. 240

named after Polish Olympic MedalistsWarsaw

Multilateral School Partnership Project „Little Europeans know each other”

Making of the branches

Starting with the corner of the newspaper we roll it around long stick. We glue it and pull out the stick. Every child makes few newspaper tubes.

We wrap crepe paper around the tubes carefuly glueing the paper on both ends. We join branches with glue and mask joint places with some more crepe paper.

Making of the trunk

We glue long cardboard tubes together and reinforce them with the slips of newspaper.

We glue short cardboard tubes to the base of the tree.We reinforce the structure with newspaper. We wait for the glue to dry.

Together we paint trunk of the tree brown.

We are not happy with the look of our trunk, so we stick some brown crepe paper around.

Making of the flowers

We fold red circle by half and fold fragment of half circle near the straight line. After spreading we have a petal. We glue some petals together creating a flower.

We stick flowers to branches.

You can use glue gun.

We cut small dark pink flower with the puncher. We fold the edges and petals inside. We glue small flowers inside big ones.

Making of the leaves

We punch green hearts, fold them by half and make another folding from the straight line towards the round one.

We treat folded hearts with paper corrugating machine. After unfolding them we have leaves with a corrugated pattern.

We stick leaves to branches. Every child creates its own branch.

Forming the branchesWe put thin wire inside branches. It helps to shape them and makes them easier to connect with the trunk.

We are so proud of our work!

We spike branches into the trunk and reinforce them with brown crepe paper.

The Spring is coming. We will greet it playing together around a blossoming tree.

We encourage you to build such a tree.

Good luck!
