Curaflex® pipe sleeve 4006
Curaflex® pipe sleeve 6000
Curaflex® pipe sleeve 8000/T
Technical informationCuraflex® pipe sleevesApplication areasPractical experience on site has shown that only by installing Doyma sealing systems, consisting of pipe sleeves and gasket inserts, secure and lasting watertight penetrations for pipes and cables through walls, ceilings and floors are guaranteed . Curaflex® sleeves, whether manufactured from special fibre cement or from steel, and Curaflex® gasket inserts form a reliable sealing system of highest quality for all pipe and cable service ducts leading from outside into a building .
MaterialsThe sleeves are manufactured, in accordance with the numerous constructional requirements, from special fibrous cement and/or steel for the commonly encountered conditions of pressing and non-pressing water and ground moisture .
Curaflex® special fibre cement pipe sleeve• Manufactured from special high-grade, asbestos-free fibre cement .• Principal installation area of the sleeves: in structural walls, floors and ceilings .• The material absorbs moisture from the surrounding structure, the formation of shrinkage cracks is eliminated .• Series Curaflex® 3000 has a grooved outer surface in order to become absolutely homogenous with the structure, providing a durable, watertight bond with the concrete because he coefficient of expansion of the material corresponds to that of concrete .• The inside face of the sleeve provides an optimum contact surface for the elastomer of the gasket insert when installed in the sleeve .• No corrosion is possible .
Curaflex® steel sleevesSteel sleeves are equally reliable and durably resistant construction components for use with Curaflex® gasket inserts .
Steel grades (materials) and surface treatment Materials• Mild steel S235JRG2 (1 .0038)• Stainless steel grade 304 (≈ 1 .4301 = V2A)• Stainless steel grade 316 (≈ 1 .4571 = V4A)Surface treatment • Electro-galvanized mild steel (DIN 50961), yellow passivated and sealant coated . Passivating approximately doubles the corrosion resistance of electro-galvanized steel; Coating doubles the resistance yet again – a four-fold improvement over simple electro-galvanized steel .• Stainless steel grades 304 and 316 are supplied in pickled condition .
Product lineSpecial fibre cement pipe sleeves• Curaflex® 3000: Sleeve with grooved outer face• Curaflex® 3001: Sleeve with additional flange suitable for structures with bituminous thick-coatingSpecial fibre cement pipe sleeves with fixed and loose flange made of cast iron:Curaflex® 400x sleeve combines the advantages of the special fibre cement sleeve with the durability of cast iron .• Curaflex® 4006: Sleeve with bonded cast iron fixed flange for sealings on buildings with tanking membranes, leak-proof against pressing water .• Curaflex® 4005: same as Curaflex® 4006, but against non-pressing water .
Curaflex® steel sleevesCuraflex® 6000: Steel sleeve with continuously welded fixed flange . Used together with a loose flange and a gasket for sealing penetrations through buildings with tanking membranes against pressing water . Curaflex® 5000: same as Curaflex® 6000, but against non-pressing water .Curaflex® 7006: Sealing of pipes/cables on the face of walls - with a fixed and loose flange construction for buildings with tanking membranes or bituminous thick-coating . Sealing against pressing water . Curaflex 7006/T in split form for retrofit installation .Curaflex® 7005: same as Curaflex® 7006, but against non-pressing water/soil moisture . Curaflex® 8000: sealing of pipes/cables on the face of walls with fixed flange . Sealing against pressing or non-pressing water . Curaflex 8000/T in split form for retrofit installation .Curaflex® 9000: Steel sleeve with continuously welded puddle flange . Sealing against pressing water, non-pressing water/soil moisture .

Curaflex®P I P E D U C T S Y S T E M
Doyma develops and produces gasket inserts for sealing service ducts through walls, ceilings and floors for the widest variety of demands . The Curaflex® gasket inserts fulfil the following construction engineering requirements .The spectrum of applications for gasket inserts encompasses structural and civil engineering, especially water lines, heating and district hea-ting . Other applications include, for example, service ducts in swimming pools, tank installations, gas pipes and shelters . Further uses occur in manholes, sewage works and in constructions with or without tanking membranes and thick-coating renders .
Function principles of gasket insertsThe assembly comprises rubber rings between profiled steel rings, which fit over the service pipe/cables inside the sleeve or core bore . Tightening the nuts compresses the rubber rings between the steel rings and thereby securely closes off the annular void between the building service and the sleeve or core bore .
Doyma DPSThe profiling of the steel rings (DPS* = Double Profile System) features a more intelligent method of pressure distribution: gently in the direction of the service, strongly in the direction of the sleeve/core bore
MaterialsThe standard gasket insert comprises minimum 6 mm thick, asymmetrically profiled steel rings (up to NB 350) . The steel rings are electro-galvanized, yellow passivated and sealant coated as standard (ggv) . To these are added - according to the sealing requirement for pressing or non-pressing water - one or two 27 mm thick elastomeric rings which, as standard, are made of fatigue-proof special EPDM compound "DOYMA-Grip" . Gasket inserts with two elastomeric rings have an additional 3 mm thick orange-coloured EPDM centre ring . This centre ring causes homogenous and uniform distribution of the compression pressure on the service pipe or cable and sleeve/core bore .
Steel grades (materials) and surface treatmentMaterials• Mild steel S235 JRG2 (1 .0038)• Stainless steel grade 304 (≈ 1 .4301 = V2A)• Stainless steel grade 316 (≈ 1 .4571 = V4A)Surface treatment• Electro-galvanized mild steel (DIN 50961), yellow passivated and sealant coated . Passivating approximately doubles the corrision resistance of electro-galvanized steel; Coating doubles the resistance yet again - a four-fold improvement over simple electro galvanized steel .• Stainless steel grades 304 and 316 are supplied in pickled condition .• Other materials and surface treatments available on request .
Sealing rubber types - EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Di-Monomer) "DOYMA-Grip" is a special, slip-resistant, resilient elastomeric compound developed by DOYMA . This compound resists friction-reducing substances, for example softening agents, which can cause the gasket insert to slip . Excellent chemical resistance, resistant to almost all acids and alkalis as well as brine, Temperature range: from -40° C to +140° C- EPDM for the gasket inserts Curaflex® C 40 and Curaflex® A 40, Temperature range: from -10° C bis +100° C- NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber - Perbunan*) Chemical resistance to oils, fats and all commercially available fuels, Temperature range: from -25° C to +100° C- FPM (Fluor Rubber - Viton*) Chemical resistance, also to solvents, fuels, natural gas, oil, fats and aviation fuels, Temperature range: from -30° C to +200° C * Registered trade name- Silicon (Silicon Rubber) Good ozone resistance, Temperature range: from -45° C to +220° C
NB:1: Curaflex® gasket inserts against pressing water are suitable for sealing against pressing ground water . If there is continous water pressure in high rise buildings, e .g . in tanks or similar containers the design of the gasket insert needs to be checked to see that it meets the requirements of pressure tightness .2: gasket inserts are not fixed points and are not designed for load bearing . If settlement of pipelines is expected, centering rings or spacers should be fitted in the sleeve or core bore during installation .

Sealant for core bores
Concrete needs protection!Without protection concrete will permit moisture penetration to some depth before it becomes an absolute barrier – that is how moisture circumvents the gasket .
The productAquagard comprises a colourless base primer and a concrete-grey special paint top coat having a coverage of 3 .5 – 4 m² per litre; both products can be brush or roller applied . The primer requires about 1 hour ventilation time at room temperature and the top coat will be touch dry within two hours at room tempera-ture and fully cured within five to six hours .

AccessoriesPackings for sealing systems with fixed and loose flange constructionGeneralAccording to German standard DIN 18195-9 dated March 2004, unilayer tanking membranes must be sandwiched between durable, pliant packings . A perfect seal on systems with fixed and loose flange construction is only guaranteed when the thickness and elasticity of the bituminous tanking membrane is great enough to ensure that it is uniformly clamped between the two flanges . When using tan-king membranes, requirements of the DIN standard as well as instructions of the manufactures have to be followed .
A) Handling with thin and hard tanking membranes - Curaflex® 1775When tanking membranes are very thin or rigid, compression by the flanges alone is often insufficient . In this case the DIN standard stipulates the use of packings . These DOYMA elastomer packings are made from EPDM and supplied ready for installation with pre-punched holes which align with the thread bolts of the fixed flange . One packing is installed by placing it on the fixed flange, then the tanking membrane is trimmed to suit and the second packing is then laid in place over the membrane and, finally, the loose flange is installed and tightened .Elastomer packings are available as an extra accessory . If required, please order Curaflex® 1775 - elastomer packings
B) Handling with bituminous thick-coating - Curaflex® 1776According to German standard DIN 18195-9, application of bituminous thick-coating in conjunction with fixed and loose flange sealing systems should be accompanied by a fabric inlay in the thick-coating in the area around the penetration .This is necessary to ensure a lasting seal, especially against pressing water . The accessories for the correct preparation of the penetra-tion comprise a fibreglass matrix, spacer washer, rubber O-rings and a course surface finish to the fixed and loose flange to maximise the grip of the flanges on the thick-coating .The set of accessories is available as an extra . If required, please order Curaflex® 1776/5 for non-pressing water or Curaflex® 1776/6 for pressing water .Please also remember to order a hole punch: Curaflex® 1777 or Curaflex® 1778 . Prices upon request .
C) Handling with other tanking membranesTanking membranes made of bitumen or bitumen-caoutchouc normally allow for an even compression between the flanges . Good sealing can be expected and additional packings are not required .
Curaflex® 1777/5 hole punch: for fixed and loose flange systems against non-pressing water, suitable for 1-2 installations .
Curaflex® 1777/6 hole punch: for fixed and loose flange systems against pressing water, suitable for 1-2 installations .
Curaflex® 1778/5 hole punch: for fixed and loose flange systems against non-pressing water, suitable for multiple installations .

Doyma DL link chains
General viewLink chains have established themselves as a low cost system to seal pipes and cables, which are taken into buildings . The advantage of this sealing system is its modular design: The assembly of several sealing modules produces the chain which is then ready for installation .
This modular system, comprising just 16 sizes of sealing module, enables pipes and cables from 21 mm to 1220 mm dia . to be successfully sealed .
The choice of the sealing module required for the seal depends on the pipe diameter and is calculated using the formula overleaf or by computer progamme . This software can be downloaded from the internet (www .doyma .de) .
The benefitsDoyma DL sealing modules have specific advantages which make this sealing system secure .- Expansion-free Y-connection technology The unique geometry of the rubber sealing elements ensures their sealing efficiency – no leak path is possible .- Continuous AquaStop safety groove The continuous AquaStop safety groove effects a more efficient compression of the sealing elements and therefore provides a greater sealing performance .- Distortion-resistant pressure elements The inside perimeter profile of the pressure elements ensures they bed positively into the body of the rubber elements during tightening; this ensures they maintain their designed, relative position during installation .
ModelsDoyma supply sealing modules for different hydrostatic loading cases . There is a broad version ”DL Sealing module B” for high loads and a slim version “DL Sealing module S” for low loads .The components of the DL sealing modules can be supplied in various materials, depending on the performance requirements:- Screws: galvanized or stainless steel- Elastomer: EPDM, EPDM-KTW, NBR
Please note:- Doyma DL link chains are suitable for sealing in the ground . If used for heavy loads in high rise buildings, e .g . in tanks or similar containers, movement of the DL link chain, which might be caused by excessive maximum pressure, has to be prevented .
- Doyma DL link chains are not fixed points and are not designed for load bearing . If settlement of pipelines is expected, centering rings or spacers should be fitted in the sleeve or core bore during installation .

How to find the right chain
2D - d
s = Ringraumdicke
Service pipe
Core bore/pipe sleeve
s = 47 mm = sealing module 475 BExample for sealing module B:
1. Which sealing module?The appropriate Doyma DL link chain for an application is deter-mined by the annular space between the diameter of the sleeve or core bore and the ducted service . The optimum link chain is smaller than the annular space in its relaxed (untensioned) state but larger when tensioned . The annular space is calculated as follows:
Annular space s =
The product of the calculation is used to select the appropriate sealing module (see table below); it will have a "relaxed moduleclearance uM" less than the product and a "tensioned module clea-rance gM" greater than the product . Just enter the calculated value according to sealing module B or S into the column “annular space s” and you will get the corresponding sealing module .
2. How many modules?The required number of sealing modules must now be calculated after determining the sealing module version . For this, the bow length BL for the selected sealing module may be derived from the table below . The number of modules is calculated using the following formula . The result is the number of modules rounded up or down .
No . of sealing modules n =
If the number after the decimal point is smaller than 0 .5, it will be rounded down, otherwise round up to the next full number of links .
D - d2
Example: 500 - 4062
= 47
BLx 1.57
500 + 40668.0
x 1,57 = 20.91
Example: Bow length value of sealing module 475 B = 68.0
n = 20.91 ⇒ 21 units of sealing module DL 475 B
