This addition to DMACC’s existing Building 5 - Student Activity Center represents a significant increase in useful square footage and a new home for Trail Point Aquatics & Wellness in addition to a much expand DMACC Student Activity Center. The expansion of this building adds a wide range of amenities that are available to the college community and as well to the wider Ankeny community. In all, the new construction adds almost 200,000 additional square feet of state of the art fitness facilities, indoor aquatic center, flexible community meeting space, faculty offices and student support services and assembly spaces.

The lighting system are almost entirely built around high efficiency and long life LED light sources. Building control systems are designed and commissioned to exceed current energy code requirements by approaching nearly 40%. The central lighting control system is integrated with AV systems, mechanical systems and programable window shading systems to deliver an intelligent building that is as comfortable as it is energy efficient.
