4 Layers Of Diversity

• Personality• Internal Dimension – age, ethnicity, sexual orientation

• External Dimension – income, religion, education, martial status

• Organization Dimension – seniority & work location

Pros of Diversity

• Increase productivity • Increase marketing opportunities• Increase in employee recruitment• Increase in creativity• Improved business image

Pros of Diversity Continued

• More viewpoints• Allows each employee to reach their potential• Social responsibility• Tax users become tax payers– Welfare work

Cons of Diversity

• Communication• Dealing with those that resist the change• Understanding others differences• Honoring religious/cultural holidays

• People are threatened by the unknown• Mismanagement of diversity
