Meet Pup, also known as Doobert!

He is an English Pointer who weighs less than five pounds

His run sheet went out before his transport, with Doobert as the

subject.But he wasn’t always named Doobert…

One of the volunteers mistakenly thought

Doobert was his name

Everyone agreed, it was the perfect name for the little pup…

So he became Doobert!

Doobert came from an irresponsible breeder, emaciated and deaf

The breeder gave him no name because he was deaf, and the

transport coordinator only received the name Pup

Doobert became an owner surrender.

When his family found out he was deaf they no longer wanted

him.

Deaf Dogs Rock got a hold of little Doobert, and referred him to Green Dogs Unleashed

Green Dogs Unleashed specializes in the training and placement of special needs dogs

Transport4Rescues coordinated Doobert’s journey from Savonburg, Kansas to Troy, Virginia

The volunteers on his transport could not wait to meet him, and some even brought Doobert toys and blankets!

The volunteers fell in love with Doobert and they will never forget this little boy

Doobert made it safely to his new foster and even has two brothers, a sister, and a cat!

Doobert started his journey with a bag of food and ended it with what the

volunteers called “luggage”…New toys, new friends and a

whole lot of love
