Context
# “Liceo Scientifico Cavour”, a school located in a central area closeto the Coliseum
# “IIS Pertini-Falcone”, a school located in a suburban area affectedby serious social issues
# “ Liceo Scientifico Cavour”: a class with a majority of malestudents (17 young men and 4 young women), a total of 21participants aged 16-17
# “IIS Pertini-Falcone”: a class of female secondary schoolstudents, a total of 14 participants aged 16-17
Target
# To help raise the participants' awareness of on-line discrimination through a cross-cultural approach
# To help participants develop a sense of responsibility on the use of Internet, combining freedom of expression and respect of human rights
# To stimulate reflection, raise awareness of and increase consciousness about both the risks and the potential benefits of social networking
# To help participants become active and aware protagonists of the contrast to on-line discrimination

# Both schools were occupied, this slowed down the workshops a little
# It was quite difficult to work on hidden forms of discrimination (“Pertini-Falcone” school).

Before the training… " In class 3B of the Tourism Department of the I.I.S. School Pertini-Falcone the word difference has always been commonly interpreted as rejection of diversity, that is, in its most negative meaning...”After the training…“In class 3B - the class where I teach - the word difference now means mutual knowledge and, above all, don't be afraid. Thank you”.
