Developing Your Mission Statement

How will you accomplish your vision?

Critical Questions… Who is your target

group? What do you know

about them? Which felt needs are

you seeking to meet? How? Strategy? Style? Where will you begin?

Your first priority?

What will be your Keys to making more and better disciples?

Which activities will first attract people’s attention?

How will the church meet felt needs of your target group?

How will ongoing care be provided?

How will new disciples be matured? Trained to reach others?

Gather the Pieces/Key words… Target group & needs… Ministry process… Desired ends… Core values & style… Uniquenesses… – no one

church fits everyone. What will you not

compromise?

“Measure” Your Draft Mission Statement…

Does it show: Your heart? Passion? That you know the people

you will reach? That you know how?

Is it accurate? Enduring? Succinct? Memorable? Energizing?

Making it Memorable Five to ten words The summary you will

place in front of your people again and again

(Remember: Vision must be recast every 30 days!)

Which three ways will you do this?
