Body is the instrument of the mind, heart and
spirit.
is the physical body of an individual.
is used in connection with appearance,
health and death.
Physiology is the study of the workings of the
body.

3 Fundamental Ways in Developing PQ
WISE NUTRITION
Most of us know what we should and
shouldnt eat.
The key is BALANCE and MODERATION
It optimizes the bodys functions and
significantly contributes to ones efforts to
maintain physical fitness and a healthy weight
through diet and regular exercise.

WISE NUTRITION
Efficacy and Wisdom of Occasional Fasting:
This is when you miss a meal or two for thepurposes of providing rest to the whole digestiveprocess and also for cleansing.
Main Benefit Mental and Spiritual
When you properly control your appetites, yourability to control your passions and to purify yourdesires increases.
This gives you a real feeling of humility andenables you to gain greater perspective aboutwhat is really important in life.

WISE NUTRITION
We have also experienced the negative fruits ofovereating, extreme dieting and mindless eatingof junk food.
This is a PERSONAL MATTER, and everyone mustdecide what is wise nutrition for him or her.
We can experience tremendous benefits ofwinning the private victory over the body. Suchvictory also impacts our ability to produce public
victories in our relationships with others and onre-orienting ourselves to a life of service andcontribution.

3 Fundamental Ways in Developing PQ
CONSISTENT, BALANCED EXERCISE
Regular Exercise cardiovascular, strength &
flexibility
Significantly increases both the quality of life
and life expectancy.
The key is - BALANCE
Our society has adopted increasinglysedentary, inactive lifestyles.

CONSISTENT, BALANCED EXERCISE
Ways to Have a Regular Exercise:
Start small, in ways you can sustain
Do something daily, or at least 3-5 times a week
Choose something you enjoy and that fits yourspecific needs and conditions
Consult with your physician
Vary the kinds of exercises you do so that youstrengthen different parts of your body and avoidbecoming bored or burned out on one thing.

CONSISTENT, BALANCED EXERCISE
Importance of Muscle Toning and Flexibility Exercises:
Go as far as you could go then to do one more
Most of the benefit comes at the very end of the
exercise when the muscle fiber is exhausted and
breaks (pain), and within about 48 hours is
renewed and strengthened.
Emerson said: That which we persist in doingbecomes easier, not that the nature of the thing
has changed, but our ability to do has increased.

CONSISTENT, BALANCED EXERCISE
Importance of Muscle Toning and Flexibility Exercises:
Must exercise everyday or go to gym at least 3
times a day
Exercises increases our own sense of self-
control and self-mastery, which enhances the
totality of our lives and truly enlarges the
space between stimulus and response.

CONSISTENT, BALANCED EXERCISE
There are 168 hours in every persons week. But
if you will physically sharpen the saw through
regular and balanced exercise for even at least
2-3 of those 168 hours. You will experience such a positive effect of those
2 or 3 on the other 166, including the depth and
quality of your sleep, that you will begin to seethe tremendous leverage and power that comes
in your life from this kind of self-mastery.

PROPER REST, RELAXATION, STRESS MGMT AND
PREVENTION THINKING
Stress describes a negative concept that can have animpact on onesmental and physical well-being, but itis unclear what exactly defines stress and whether ornot stress is a cause, an effect, or the process
connecting the two. With organisms as complex as humans, stresscan take on entirely concrete or abstract meanings withhighly subjective qualities, satisfying definitions of bothcause and effect in ways that can be both tangible and
intangible. related to the concepts of General Adaptation
Syndrome

General Adaptation Syndrome
Physiologists define stress as how the body
reacts to a stressor, real or imagined, a
stimulus that causes stress. Acute stressors
affect an organism in the short term; chronic
stressors over the longer term.

3 Fundamental Ways in Developing PQ
PROPER REST, RELAXATION, STRESS MGMT AND
PREVENTION THINKING
General Adaptation Syndrome Alarm is the first stage. When the threat or stressor is identified or realized, the
body's stress response is in a state of alarm. During this stage, adrenaline will beproduced in order to bring about the fight-or-flight response. The organism'sresistance to the stressor drops temporarily below the normal range and somelevel of shock may be experienced. There is also some activation of the HPA axis,
producing cortisol. Resistance is the second stage. If the stressor persists, it becomes necessary to
attempt some means of coping with the stress. Although the body begins to try toadapt to the strains or demands of the environment, the body cannot keep this upindefinitely, so its resources are gradually depleted.
Exhaustion is the third and final stage in the GAS model. At this point, all of thebody's resources are eventually depleted and the body is unable to maintain
normal function. The initial autonomic nervous system symptoms may reappear(sweating, raised heart rate, etc.). If stage three is extended, long-term damagemay result, as the body's immune system becomes exhausted, and bodilyfunctions become impaired, resulting in decompensation.
The result can manifest itself in obvious illnesses such as ulcers, depression, diabetes, trouble with the digestive system, or even cardiovascular problems, along with other mental illnesses.

EUSTRESS
Comes from the positive tension between wherewe are now and where we want to go some
meaningful goal or project or cause that reallyturns us on and taps into our talents and passion.
Voice
It braces the immune system and increases
longevity and enjoyment of life.
It strengthens us and enlarge our capacity.

It must be balanced and tempered by the
proper rest and relaxation.
Women live roughly 7 years longer than men
for psychological/spiritual reasons, not
physiological causes.

diseases are caused by LIFESTYLE choices that
people make:
Nutrition
Smoking
Insufficient Rest and Relaxation
Abuses of the body
Sedentary lifestyle

Many attribute various diseases to GENETIC
factors, but there is always a space between
Stimulus and Response.
When people are aware of this space and
aware of their own capacity to make choices
based on principles, they dont necessarily get
the disease of their genetic predisposition.

It is very important to have frequent
checkups, at least annually, so that various
disease tendencies or symptoms can yield to
wise choices.
We must take full responsibility of our own
health.

Neglecting the Development and
Health of the Body
Think about what happens to the other threedimensions when the body is neglected.
We can lose not only our health but mentally
we can also lose our focus, our creativity, ourendurance, our toughness, our courage, ourlearning capacity, our retention.
To the contrary, when we exercise, rest andeat properly, we retain our mental focus andtoughness, as well as our thirst for learning.

Neglecting the Development and
Health of the Body
What happens to our emotional intelligence,
to our heart, when we neglect our bodies?
Patient, love, understanding, empathy, the
ability to listen and compassion are
themselves subordinated they become
buzzwords without flesh and blood to drive
them.

Neglecting the Development and
Health of the Body
What happens to our spirit, to our peace ofmind?
It affects our desire to serve, to contribute,
our willingness to sacrifice, to subordinateourselves for a higher good; our consciencebecomes dulled, yielding to almost anytemptation.
Any loss of personal integrity makes me moreself-oriented, more selfish.

Physical Self-Mastery and Development
Is foundational
Very concrete, something we can immediately dosomething about
We can control it and have direct access to it
Most people acknowledge they get off the trackfrom time to time. But if they will sincerely
LISTEN to the FEEDBACK of their body, mind, heart and spirit and make necessary changes, they can get back on track.

Conscience
If we will just listen to it, this will direct us in
all 3 of these areas.
The more we follows it, the stronger it
becomes, so that he can move more and more
toward giving of himself.

Neglecting the Development and
Health of the Body
By eating wisely, exercising, resting and
relaxing we deepen our capacities and
strengthen the bodys immune system and
ability to rebuild itself
Most importantly, we release the other 3
intelligences contained in the mind, heart and
the spirit.
