E-governance AwardNEW DELHI, Dec 20:

The Petroleum Ministry hasbeen awarded the National E-governance Award by ComputerSociety of India for implement-ing project 'Lakshya' which isaimed at improving LPG distri-bution.

"The prestigious CSI Nihilentnational e-Governance Award2012-13 was awarded to theProject Lakshya - EmpoweringConsumers: Transparent SupplyChain and Efficient SubsidyAdministration at Vishakha-pat-nam as part of 48th AnnualConvention of Computer Societyof India (CSI-2013)," a ministrypress release said.

The Ministry has beenawarded for developing aTransparency portal which isnot only an effective tool ofempowering the LPG con-sumers for all their LPGrequirements but also an effi-cient mechanism to conductsocial audit of LPG consump-tion.(PTI)

GM to hike vehicleprices by up to

Rs 10,000 from JanNEW DELHI, Dec 20:

General Motors India todaysaid it will hike prices of itsentire range of vehicles by up toRs 10,000 from next month inorder to partially offset impactof rising input costs.

"We plan to hike pricesacross our entire product portfo-lio by up to Rs 10,000 fromJanuary. This is due to cost pres-sure," General Motors IndiaVice President P Balendran toldreporters.

The company currently sellsvarious vehicle brands in thecountry ranging from hatchbackSpark to sports utility vehicleCaptiva, priced between Rs3.33 lakh and Rs 25.71 lakh,respectivley, (ex-showroomDelhi). (PTI)
