ISOSYN® Advanced Technology is a combination of high performance additive chemistry and premium base oils that help to extend the durability of critical engine parts in three key ways:
• improved oxidation control
• improved wear protection
• improved piston deposit control.
By addressing these three key factors that contribute to an average component and engine life expectancy, Caltex Delo® 400 SDE’s premium formulation provides outstanding oxidation resistance, improved wear protection, improved piston deposit control and base number retention to protect against loss of engine performance and durability.
Changing your current oil over to Caltex Delo® 400 SDE means your vehicles can experience industry-leading durability, reliability and best of all, increased efficiencies such as reducing the need in stocking multiple diesel engine oils – giving you peace-of-mind!

Why choose Delo® 400 SDE SAE 15W-40
To make profit, your heavy-duty diesel equipment needs to be working effectively over its entire life. A lubricant no longer just needs to provide a protective film. A modern Heavy Duty Diesel engine oil needs to:
• work effectively across a wide number of applications and conditions that vehicles experience across Australia
• take care of exhaust after treatment devices such as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs)
• provide protection for older vehicles in mixed fleets and latest generation Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements and specifications
• accommodate alternative fuels such as Biofuels, CNG and LNG
• provide opportunities to reduce operating costs and extend equipment life.
At CALTEX, our philosophy is to provide oils that help optimize your diesel engine performance, minimise operating costs and maximise equipment uptime.
Introducing Delo® 400 SDE SAE 15W-40: Reliability and Durability are our priority
CALTEX Lubricants stand for Reliability. Our advanced formula Delo® 400 SDE SAE 15W-40 provides excellent oxidation resistance, base number retention, deposit and oil consumption control and wear performance to protect against loss of engine performance and durability.
Delo® 400 SDE SAE 15W-40 has been formulated with ISOSYN® Advanced Technology to specifically protect your diesel equipment and vehicles thereby minimising the total cost of ownership.
LET’S GO FURTHER WITH DELO® 400 SDE SAE 15W-40
Proven over millions of kilometres
Delo® industry leading lubricants have logged millions of kilometres and countless hours providing excellent protection to diesel engine parts so your vehicles and equipment can go further.
DELO® SDE SAE 15W-40 PROVEN PERFORMANCE
Proven in real world trials:
Below are pictures of parts taken from the tear down inspection of a test truck engine which was operated for an average of 8,700km per week for 21 months for a total of 791,800km at extended oil drains.
This piston highlights the powerful and leading edge formulation of Caltex Delo® 400 SDE SAE 15W-40. The beneficial action of this technology can be seen by the minimal crown and piston land deposits and the almost totally new cleanliness of the piston overall “This truck ran ODI’s of 64,000km.”*
Proven in the lab:
The Daimler OM501LA Engine Test – PASS
This test is used as part of qualification testing for Daimler and Detroit Diesel engine approval qualifications. The engine is run under severe operating conditions to help determine Turbo Charger and Piston Deposit Control protection.
Actual Piston Results – PASS
Actual Piston Liner Results – PASS
PistonsMinimal crown and ring land deposits• Shows excellent dispersant and
detergent performance
Main BearingsGood condition with small overlay removal shown.• Indicates excellent corrosion
and wear protection.
Connecting Rod BearingsVery good condition showing no exposed copper and minimal overlay removal • Indicates excellent wear
protection
Oil Pan• No visibility of
sludge or deposits highlighting the effectiveness of dispersant performance
Typical Cam• Low wear and no pitting
or cavitation on the lobes indicating excellent soot dispersency
Wrist pins• Minimal wear at Wrist pins
The Cat 1N engine test is run for approximately 250 hours under severe operating conditions to help determine an oils ability to resist piston deposit formation and measure wear performance of the liners.
The CAT 1N Engine Test – PASS
Excellent liner crosshatch protection. The Cat 1N engine is used as part of qualification testing for Caterpillar engine approval qualifications. The engine is run under severe operating conditions to help measure piston deposits, oil consumption and piston/liner scuffing wear performance of heavy-duty engine oils.
Actual Turbo Charger Results – PASS
