• European Parliament: adopted at 7th June 2005

• Council: political agreement 24th June 2005

• Commission did not accept the version

• Second reading needed in 2006

Unclear legislative texts:

“The European Council text of INSPIRE allows Member States to

apply charges and/or licenses to view services where these are

an essential precondition to maintain the spatial data sets and

services or to fulfill requirements of already existing international

spatial data infrastructures in a sustainable way.”
