Idaho Rural Health Association Update
The Idaho Rural Health Association would like to welcome Shannon Schmitz as their new Executive Director. Rural healthcare has been important to Shannon her entire life; from growing up in a very rural environment and accessing healthcare as a youth, to spending the majority of her career as an occupational therapist treating patients in rural areas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta, Edmonton and became certified to practice in both Canada and the US. She has worked in rural areas of Alberta, Montana and Idaho in both frontline patient care and management. Shannon has also been the IRHA Volunteer Coordinator for the Rural Outreach Programs since 2010.
