2015 outlookThe Beatrice volleyball

team will be under new lead-ership for the 2015 season.

Melissa Buss takes over as head coach of the team. She came over from Cozad High School, where she served as a varsity assistant and a middle school coach for the past three years.

Prior to that, she coached both volleyball and basket-ball at Gothenburg for four years and served as the head coach of their local club team for five years.

Buss inherits a Beatrice

team that finished 12-21 last year. They lost one of their biggest attacking threats in Kim Higgins, but return most of their other key play-ers, including junior middle hitter Hannah Sexton, who finished the season with 176 kills last year and 49 blocks. Junior Sarah Riekenberg also returns after registering 162 kills last year.

Other returning key play-ers from last year include

juniors Natalie Meyer, Ma-rissa Sandman and Andrea Zulauf and sophomore Mi-chaela Jones.

Beatrice will open the sea-son with their home invita-tional on Sept. 4 and 5.
