Meet theCover Bride
Abby
How did Tim propose?Tim proposed to me on his birthday 28th October, we went to Rome for the weekend for our birthdays as mine is 3 days after his. He took me to the famous Trevi fountain where [he] proposed with a beautiful white gold ring with Canadian ice diamond, it’s very dainty exactly what I would have chosen for myself. It was a complete surprise, usually I know when he is up to something but he kept it very quiet!
Describe your dress.. My dress was a Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner dress it was a sweetheart neck very fitted at the top and from the bottom of my hip it floated down with a beautiful train. It had pearls and diamonds along the neckline and more on one side. The material was silky and when the sun shone on it, [it] made it really stand out and sparkle. The back had pearls and diamonds either side of the lace up back. I didn’t believe it when people said when you know it’s the dress you just know until I tried my dress on and I had that exact feeling!
What accessories did you wear?I wore a silver head band, on one side of the head band it had the pearls and diamonds that matched my dress and small white flowers. I also wore a Pandora bangle that Tim had gave me on the morning of the wedding [and] another bracelet on the other arm and a pair of my mum’s earrings.
The groom: The groom wore navy trousers with black shoes, a white long sleeve shirt and an ivory waistcoat with a swirly pattern on the front.
Our Cover Bride Abby Smyth, 23-year-old Beautician, married husband Tim Rugman, 28, Service Engineer on the 30th June 2014 at The Olympic Lagoon Hotel, Ayia Napa.
How did you meet?Tim and I met through my brother Nick, they were old school friends. One night they were out together in a bar and me & a friend went to meet my brother, then Tim and I got talking and we sparked straight away! He asked me to the cinema, we watched the film I Am Legend starring Will Smith and that was our first date.. We have now been together 7 years and married for 4 months!
