In the article titled ldquoInvestigating the Degradability of HDPELDPE PE-BIO and PE-OXO Films under UV-B Radiationrdquo[1] there were errors in the key of Figure 3 the legends ofFigures 2 3 4 and 5 which are corrected below In additionthe authors would like to provide the following missinginformation
The exact composition of the bags is commercially confi-dential
The presence of antioxidants and photostabilizers mightaffect the comparison of UV-oxidation timeWhen polyethy-lene is exposed to photooxidation hydroperoxides do not
accumulate into the polymer matrix but when exposed tothermal oxidation they accumulate Also all the additivesincluded in the experiments to induce polyethylene oxidationinhibit the development of carbonyl groups to some extent[2] In this investigation we are looking for alternativeways to accelerate the degradation process in commercialpolymer so we verified that in the presence of UV-B radi-ation and oxygen chains of HDPE and PE-BIO experiencestructural changes at the molecular level forming vinyl andcarbonyl groups which are considered the main products ofphotooxidation
